MUSICIAN BIOS

CALIFORNIA COUNTRY

Friday & Saturday
January 31st & February 1st
9:00 pm–1:30 am

California Country is a country sound with a mix of new and old flavors.
Think Meryl Haggard joins up with Dwight Yokham and they run across Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean…and all get along playing music together. The sound is a mix from semi rowdy country lyric filled songs to slow ballads that make you think of your past or a loved one, California Country is sure to please an audience. The band plays a mix of great covers while slipping in an original song of their own once in a while. While California Country is truly a young band, its members have their individual history in music, playing with or opening for some of the biggest names in the business. From a super solid rhythm section to some classic, true country leads from electric guitar, lap steel or fiddle. The sound is just, well what we affectionately call, California Country.

W. Smith and the California Cowboys deliver a powerful sound, with the clear punch of tight three-part harmonies. Together with drummer Hal Atkinson (CCMA’s Drummer of the year, 1994), guitar player Gary Potterton (producer of Grandma got run over by a Reindeer. bass player, Cary Atkinson and legendary Steel Guitarist, Bobby Black. The Nash Brothers were born and raised in The City of Roses, Portland, OR, but our hearts beat to the sounds of country life. It began by going on road trips, camping, and fishing with our family, listening and singing to country music classics. In 2012, the fire of country music was lit in us, we started playing every available moment of every day! From then on we had a dream; that was to be on stage in front of thousands of fans, who share the same love for country music that we do.
